Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry Clinics

Callfor prices

Dental students give full dental care at about half the cost of a private office. The first visit is an evaluation with X-rays, then you are assigned a student. Visits take 2 to 3 hours and care takes many visits. No free care.

What it costs

Care in the student clinics costs about half what a private dental office charges. Resident specialty clinics cost more than the student clinics but less than private specialists. Faculty clinic fees are like private offices.

When it's open

Clinics are generally open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Most student appointments start at 9am or 2pm. Hours vary by clinic, so call to check.

Summer hours may vary.

Will they take me?

Almost anyone can be a patient, regardless of income. Adults 16 and older go to the adult student clinics; children 16 and under go to the Children's Dental Clinic. Some patients are referred elsewhere if their needs are not a good fit. Emergency visits need no screening, but they treat only the most urgent problem.

  • Adult Clinic patients must be 16 or older
  • Bring recent X-rays, a list of your medicines and doses, photo ID and insurance cards
  • Children cannot come into treatment areas with adult patients; no child care
  • After three broken appointments (no-shows or cancels with less than 24 hours' notice) you may not be able to book in the student clinic
  • Children's clinic: a parent or legal guardian must come to the first visit
  • Children's clinic: bring insurance card, photo ID and proof of guardianship or a notarized Medical Consent Authorization form if needed
  • Must be able to come to many appointments

How long it takes

Each visit: 2 to 3 hours on average

Visits: Several visits to finish a treatment plan
