What it costs
- First visit (Program Selection Appointment) with exam, oral cancer screening and X-rays if neededCharged if your insurance does not cover it. Non-refundable. Cash, credit card or money order. From a 2019 form; the clinic's pages now say a nominal fee, so call to confirm.
- $46
- Veterans and Gold Star Parents: reduced fees for some treatment
Fees are usually much lower than at a private practice, but treatment takes longer.
When it's open
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. Emergency line for non-patients: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm.
Summer hours may vary.
Will they take me?
Adults and children are seen. At the first visit a faculty dentist checks your needs. If they fit the teaching program, you are assigned to a student or resident. If your needs are too complex, you are referred elsewhere. Emergency care for non-patients is by phone triage, not walk-in.
- Fill out the Program Selection Appointment Packet and bring it
- Bring a government ID, your insurance cards and a list of all your medicines
- Guardians must bring legal papers
- A photo is taken of every patient, including children; remove non-religious headwear
- No cell phones, photos or video in the clinic
- Parents must stay in the clinic while their child is treated
- Three broken or missed appointments in a row means dismissal
- Come for a recall exam at least once a year to stay a patient
