Harper College Dental Hygiene Clinic
$27–$64cleaningFirst visit $7 (about 1.5 hours). Cleaning care $27 to $64, X-rays $3 to $35, as sample fees. Children 16 and under and adults 60 and over pay less. The clinic checks at the first visit whether it can treat you. Later visits can last 3 to 4 hours.

When it's open
Hours change each semester. Morning and afternoon appointments are available. Call 847-925-6534 for times.
Will they take me?
Open to people in the area. Your first visit is a screening. If your dental needs are too complex for students, or a health problem needs a doctor's OK, you will be told to see your own dentist.
- Screening visit first; not everyone is accepted
- Some medical conditions need your doctor's approval before treatment
- Active infectious diseases are not treated until they are no longer contagious or a doctor approves
- You must name a personal dentist or public dental clinic and an emergency medical facility before treatment
- Cancel at least 48 hours ahead
- 3 missed appointments in a row means you are dropped from the clinic
- A parent or guardian signs for patients under 18
- Wear safety glasses during treatment (provided)
How long it takes
Each visit: 3 to 4 hours (first screening visit about 1.5 hours)

How to get in
Call 847-925-6534 or stop by the dental hygiene desk in Building X, Room 102A, to book a screening visit. If you are a good fit, a student will call to set up your cleaning visits.

Paying
Credit card, Debit card.
The clinic does not bill insurance. You get a receipt to send to your dental insurance company yourself.

- Gum (periodontal) disease examination
- Dental examination
- Comprehensive dental hygiene care: scaling and removal of deposits from teeth
- Head and neck examinations and oral cancer screenings
- Radiographs (X-rays)
- Oral health education, smoking cessation education and nutritional counseling
- Fluoride treatments
