Freescreening

Full dental care by dental students for adults and children from age 1. Starts with a free 20-minute screening; not everyone is accepted. Exam and X-rays then cost a fee; ask for the price. Visits are much longer than at a private office.

What it costs

Screening visit (about 20 minutes)Checks whether your needs fit what the students can treat.
No cost

Fees are much lower than at a private dental office. You get a cost estimate with your treatment plan.

When it's open

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

During school breaks, current patients can get emergency care from 8:30am to 1pm.

Will they take me?

Adults and children from age 1. Dental students do the work and a licensed dentist checks it. A short screening decides if your needs fit the students' training, and not everyone is accepted. If you are accepted, you get a student team and a full treatment plan. Only current patients get emergency care.

Patients from age 1.

  • Screening visit first; not everyone is accepted as a patient
  • Bring photo ID, a way to pay, your dental insurance card and a list of your medicines
  • Ask your last dentist to send recent X-rays before the screening
  • New patients arrive 30 minutes early with the completed paperwork
  • You must accept the full treatment plan; you cannot pick only parts of it or split care with a private dentist (except emergency care)
  • Give 48 hours notice to cancel; 3 missed or late-cancelled visits and you are dismissed
  • Children cannot be left alone in the waiting room or come into the treatment area
  • Crowns, bridges, dentures, implants and root canals: pay 50% when treatment starts and the rest when it is finished
  • If you do not speak English, bring someone to translate
